Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alalihi Wasallam said: 

Martyrdom is of seven types besides being killed for the sake of Allah.

The one who dies of the plague is a martyr;

The one who dies of the Abdominal disease is a martyr;

The one who dies of the drowning is a martyr;

the one who is crushed by a falling building is a martyr;

the one who dies of pleurisy (Lungs Infection) is a martyr;

the one who is burned to death is a martyr,

and the woman who dies in pregnancy is a martyr.

✦ A man among the Companions of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam said O Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam, why will the believers be tested in their graves except the martyr ? He Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam said The flashing of the swords above his head is trial enough

✦ A person came to the Messenger of Allah Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam  and said: Messenger of Allah, what do you think 

if a man comes to me in order to appropriate my possession (property)? 

He Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam said: Don't surrender your possession to him. 

He (the inquirer) said: If he fights me? 

He (Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ) remarked: Then fight (with him). 

He (the inquirer) again said:  if I am killed? 

He (Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ) said You would be a martyr. 

He (the inquirer) said:  If I kill him. 

He (Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ) said: he would be in the Fire.

Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith 259

✦ Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, If Any Muslim dies with one of six conditions then he has a guarantee from Allah he will be admitted into Paradise

1. A man who goes out for jihad; if he dies in this state, his guarantee is upon Allah

2. A man who follows a funeral procession; if he dies in this state, his guarantee is upon Allah

3. A man who visits a sick person; if he dies in this state, his guarantee is upon Allah

4. A man who performs ablution in the best manner and then goes out to the mosque for his prayer; if he dies in this state, his guarantee is upon Allah

5. A man who comes to a Muslim leader for no reason but to honor and respect him; if he dies in this state, his guarantee is upon Allah

6. A man in his house who does not backbite a Muslim and he does not bring displeasure or vengeance upon himself; if he dies in this state, his guarantee is upon Allah.

Hadith : The intercession of a martyr will be accepted for seventy members of his family.

✦ It was narrated that Safwan bin Umayyah Radi Allahu Anhu said:

"The plague, abdominal illness, drowning and dying in childbirth are martyrdom." (One of the narrators) said: Abu 'Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu narrated this to us several times, and on one occasion he attributed it to the Prophet.

Sunan Nasaii, Book 21, Hadith 2056-Sahih

✦ The Prophet peace_be_upon_him said: The intercession of a martyr will be accepted for seventy members of his family.

Sunan Abu Dawud  2516 (2522)-Sahih 

Hadith: who died in protecting his property is a martyr.

✦ Abdullah bin Amr Radi Allahu Anhu said: the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) Said He who died in protecting his property is a martyr.

Al Quran : Say not of those who are killed in the Way of ALLAH, "They are dead." Nay, they are living, but you perceive (it) not.

AL Quran : O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer). Truly! ALLAH is with As-Sabirun (the patient). And say not of those who are killed in the Way of ALLAH, "They are dead." Nay, they are living, but you perceive (it) not.

Al Quran, Surah Baqara(2) , verse 153-154

Hadith: Narrated Anas bin Malik Radiallahu anhu: The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, Nobody who enters Paradise likes to go back to the world even if he got everything on the earth, except a Shaheed (Mujahid) who wishes to return to the world so that he may be martyred ten times because of the dignity he receives (from ALLAH).

Hadith : Anas bin malik Radiallahu anhu se rivayat hai ki Rasoollallah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya koi shaksh aisa na hoga jo jannat mein dakhil honey ke baad duniya mein dobara aana pasand karey chahey usey sari duniye mil jaye, siwaye shaheed ke, iski ye tamanna hogi ki duniye mein dobara wapas jakar 10 martaba aur Qatl ho jauu kyunki wo shahadat ki Ezzat wahan dekh chuka hota hai.

Narrated Anas bin Malik Radiallahu anhu: The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, Nobody who enters Paradise likes to go back to the world even if he got everything on the earth, except a Mujahid who wishes to return to the world so that he may be martyred ten times because of the dignity he receives (from ALLAH).
