✦ Narrated Abu Bakr  Radhi Allahu Anhu : ALLAH's Apostle Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam said, "Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the great sins?" We said, "Yes, O ALLAH's ApostleSal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam " He said, "To join partners in worship with ALLAH: to be undutiful to one's parents." The Prophet sat up after he had been reclining and added, "And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness; I warn you against giving a forged statement and a false witness." The Prophet kept on saying that warning till we thought that he would not stop.

✦ Abdullah ibn masood Radhi allahu anhu reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying : Avoid falsehood, for falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness to hell; and if a man continues to speak falsehood and makes falsehood his object, he will be recorded in Allah’s presence as a great liar. And adhere to truth, for truth leads to good deeds, and good deeds lead to paradise. If a man continues to speak the truth and makes truth his object, he will be recorded in Allah’s presence as eminently truthful.

Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 42 Hadith 4971-Sahih
