✦ Al Quran : Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred (Dhul Qaida, Dhul Hijja,Muharram and Rajab)

✦ Hadith: Narrated Abu Bakra Radi allahu anhu The prophet Sal-Allahu Alaihi Wasallam The year is twelve months, four of which are sacred, three of them are in succession, namely Dhul-Qa'da, Dhul Hijja and Muharram, (the fourth being) Rajab which is between Juma'da (ath-thamj and Sha'ban.
