✦ How to Divide An Inheriance.

Al Quran : Allah Subhanhu commands you as regards your children's (inheritance)
✦ To the male, a portion equal to that of two females;
✦ If (there are) only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds (2/3 or 66.66%) of the inheritance;
✦ If only one, her share is a half. (1/2 or 50%)
✦ For parents, a sixth share (1/6 or 16.66%) of inheritance to each if the deceased left children;
✦ If no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; (1/3 or 33.33%)
✦ If the deceased left brothers (or sisters), the mother has a sixth.
✦ (The distribution in all cases is) after the payment of legacies he may have bequeathed or (after paying) debts.
✦ You know not which of them, whether your parents or your children, are nearest to you in benefit;
✦ (these fixed shares) are ordained by Allah Subhanhu. And Allah is Ever All-Knower, All-Wise.
Surah An-Nisa (4) Verse 11

*Note : Scholar explained that male will have a portion equal to that of two females because male has the responsibilty of his wiffe and kids too,
The share of the inheritance for the wife or husband has been described in another verse (12) of this surah.*
