Narrated `Aisha radi allahu anha: Once Hassan bin Thabit asked the permission of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) to lampoon (i.e. compose satirical poetry defaming) the infidels. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, "What about the fact that I have common descent with them?" Hassan replied, "I shall take you out of them as a hair is taken out of dough." Narrated `Urwa: I started abusing Hassan in front of `Aisha, whereupon she said. "Don't abuse him, for he used to defend the Prophet (with his poetry).
Sahih Bukhari, Book 56, Hadith 731
Narrated Abu Salama bin 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Auf: that he heard hassan bin thabit Al-Ansari Radhi Allahu Anhu asking the witness of Abu Huraira, saying,
"O Abu- Huraira! I beseech you by ALLAH (to tell me). Did you hear ALLAH's Apostle Peace be upon him saying''O hassan ! Reply on behalf of ALLAH's Apostle. O ALLAH ! Support him (hassan) with the Holy Spirit (Gabriel).'?"
Abu Huraira Radhi Allahu Anhu said, "Yes."
